Jos Carnival 2017 In Pictures

The Jos Carnival 2017 is a 4-in-1 carnival. Here is how the events are unfolding in pictures:

1. Children's Parade On April 12, 2017 At Polo Field





2. Mountaineering Event On April 15, 2017 At Shere Hills

The mountaineering event attracted a total of 48 participants.
Side attractions of the event was music which the participants cheerfully danced to. Five casualties were recorded, who suffered minor injuries during the hiking.

3. Street Parade On April 17, 2017 At Polo Field


The street parade had hundreds of people colourfully dressed in different costumes showcasing the different tribes and cultures in Plateau state. The dancing and singing procession went on along the streets of Jos and terminated at the Polo field, where the different cultural groups went on to showcase their dancing skills to the delight of the governor who was visibly very happy about how succesful the carnival, which was the very first in the state turned out. Other government officials and thousands of spectators were also there to cheer  and and watch in excitement.
























Overall, the carnival was a success and it shows that there is peace in Plateau state.
